Addiction

Addiction can take many forms, addiction can be both maladaptive like alcohol and drugs dependencies or adaptive like healthy eating and exercising. In society we value the traits of the good life such as leading a healthy lifestyle.

When our motivations to try a new behaviour become rigid and obsessive it leads to a lack of enjoyment in life. The persuit of that addictive tendency leads to a narrower vision of life. This narrow vision means that we identify with our addiction and can't see enjoyment in any other aspect of our life.

The rewards of finding and maintaining balance are neither immediate nor permanent. They require patience and maintenance.

Therapy allows you to be truthful with your addiction. With a qualified therapist you find the time to modify or substitute this addiciton with a more balanced approach to life.
